Your
first step on the web starts here
Please
use the following form to check the availability of a domain
name. Please provide a value for a domain name and select
one of the extensions (i.e., ".com", ".net",
".org", "co.uk", etc.). A query will
be performed on the appropriate WHOIS database to see if
it is available or to identify the current owner of the
domain.
The
Rules:
|
 |
Don't
put "www." in front of the domain name. "www."
is a host name, not part of a domain name. You should
not use "www" anywhere unless it is included
within the actual domain name you are looking for. |
 |
Legal
characters for domain names are 0 - 9, a - z and "-".
Underscores, (_), and spaces are not permitted in domain
names. |
 |
Legal
domain name lengths are between 2 characters and 57
characters. |
 |
Domain
names cannot begin or end in a hyphen or contain double
hyphens. A domain name can contain hyphens, however
the hyphens cannot be together (ie "--") and
they also cannot begin the domain name or end it, ie
"-domain.xxx" is illegal as it begins with
a hyphen. On the same token "domain-.xxx"
is illegal as it ends with a hyphen. |
 |
Domain
names must only contain alphanumerical characters and
hyphens. Domain names must only consist of numbers,
letters and hyphens - this means that no spaces, periods,
commas or any other kind of punctuation is allowed.
A common mistake is when people begin the
domain name with "www." - this is not part
of the domain name and should not be used...ever. |
WHOIS Privacy Protection
|
|
WHOIS Privacy Protection for a domain you've registered through A2 Hosting is
available for $11.00/year (this price
may vary per TLD and is subject to change). If you'd like to add WHOIS Privacy
Protection for your domain, please submit a ticket to
Technical Support with your request.

Domain Transfer Requirements
|
- The Administrative contact email for the domain must be a functioning
email address that you have access to.
- If WHOIS privacy protection is enabled for the domain to be transferred,
it must be disabled before the transfer so that the transfer verification email can be received by the registrant.
- A domain must be at least 60 days old and must be unlocked at the
current registrar for a domain transfer to run successfully.
- You must obtain the EPP key for the domain from the current registrar
before ordering a domain transfer. Please contact the current registrar
for further information.
