FutureServe Green Hosting
Did you know the "A2" in our name stands for Ann Arbor? Obviously we're very proud of our Ann Arbor, Michigan roots. Appropriately nicknamed named Tree Town, Ann Arbor is home to over 150,000 trees! This is a big reason we offer FutureServe Green Hosting, our initiative to protect the environment for our future generations.
Key components of FutureServe Green Hosting are:
-
CarbonFund.org Partnership - Since 2007 we have partnered with Carbonfund.org to offset our carbon footprint to be 100% carbon neutral. This partnership aids Carbonfund.org in their continued development of clean, renewable sources of energy and the reduction of CO2 emissions on a global scale.

-
100% Green Data Center - Our Iceland data center uses natural cooling technology that pulls in outside air into its cooling unit. This technology runs the data center at very low power usage effectiveness (PUE) levels. No carbon footprint is made!
-
Telcommuting – To prevent unnecessary CO2 emmissions from daily commutes to an office, our employees work remotely from their homes.
-
Recycling Older Servers – Instead of tossing our older equipment into a landfill, we re-use it. Our retired hardware is used as internal servers, dedicated servers for clients with lower resource requirements and is resold to the public.
-
Planting Trees – We've been known to run special promotions, including planting 3-trees for every hosting package sold during a given month.
-
Reducing Trash – Taking out trash isn't any fun. We reduce our waste as much as possible with practices like using coffee mugs instead of disposable coffee cups when we meet in our office.
