How to view information about your system using the A2 QuickInstaller

This article describes how to use the A2 QuickInstaller  to view basic configuration information about your system. You can view hostname and DNS settings, memory usage information, and more.

The A2 QuickInstaller is no longer supported, and is only available on older VPS hosting packages. On newer VPS hosting packages, you can use Webuzo to quickly and easily install a wide range of applications and manage your server.

Hostname, IP address, and DNS information

You can use the A2 QuickInstaller  to view your system's hostname, DNS settings, and IP address.

To view this information, follow these steps:

  1. Use SSH to log in to your system as the root user.
    To use the A2 QuickInstaller, you must log in as the root user using SSH. You cannot use the serial console in the VPS Control Panel to run the A2 QuickInstaller.
  2. To start the A2 QuickInstaller, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sh /usr/sbin/quickinstaller.sh
  3. At the main menu, type 1 and then press ENTER. The hostname, IP address, and DNS settings for your system appear.
  4. To return to the main menu, press ENTER.

Network information

You can use the A2 QuickInstaller  to view information about the network interfaces and traffic on your system.

To view this information, follow these steps:

  1. Use SSH to log in to your system as the root user.
    To use the A2 QuickInstaller, you must log in as the root user using SSH. You cannot use the serial console in the VPS Control Panel to run the A2 QuickInstaller.
  2. To start the A2 QuickInstaller, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sh /usr/sbin/quickinstaller.sh
  3. At the main menu, type 2 and then press ENTER. Network information for your system appears.
  4. To return to the main menu, press ENTER.

Memory usage information

You can use the A2 QuickInstaller  to view memory usage information for your system. You can view the amount of used and free memory, and virtual memory statistics. You can also view which processes are consuming the most memory.

To view memory usage information, follow these steps:

  1. Use SSH to log in to your system as the root user.
    To use the A2 QuickInstaller, you must log in as the root user using SSH. You cannot use the serial console in the VPS Control Panel to run the A2 QuickInstaller.
  2. To start the A2 QuickInstaller, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sh /usr/sbin/quickinstaller.sh
  3. At the main menu, type 3 and then press ENTER. Memory usage information for your system appears.
  4. To return to the main menu, press ENTER.
