How to configure Silverlight in Plesk

This article describes how to use Plesk to configure your site to support Microsoft Silverlight files.

Configuring Silverlight

To configure your website to support Microsoft Silverlight files, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Plesk.
    If you do not know how to log in to your Plesk account, please see this article.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Websites & Domains:

  3. Locate your domain, and then click Virtual Directories:

  4. On the Virtual Directory page, click the MIME Types tab:

  5. Click Add MIME Type:

    The Edit MIME Type page appears:

  6. In the Extension text box, type .xaml.
  7. In the Content list box, select application/xaml+xml.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Under MIME Types, browse the extension list and confirm that the .xaml extension is configured. Additionally, confirm that the following extensions are configured:

    Extension Content
    .xap application/x-silverlight-app
    .xbap application/x-ms-xbap
