How to configure a catch-all e-mail account in Plesk

This article describes how to configure a catch-all e-mail account in Plesk. A catch-all e-mail account is an account that "catches" any e-mail messages that are addressed to e-mail accounts on the domain that do not exist.

Configuring a catch-all account helps prevent lost messages due to e-mail address misspellings. However, catch-all accounts can also fill up very quickly with spam messages. If you create a catch-all account, you should monitor it regularly.

To configure a catch-all e-mail account in Plesk, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Plesk.
    If you do not know how to log in to your Plesk account, please see this article.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Mail:

  3. On the Mail page, click the Mail Settings tab.
  4. Select the check box next to the domain for which you want to create a catch-all e-mail account.
  5. Click Mail for Non-Existent Users.
  6. In the Mail for Non-Existent Users for Selected Domains dialog box, click Forward to address, and then in the text box, type the e-mail address that will receive the messages.
  7. Click Ok. Plesk activates the catch-all e-mail account.
Please note that this can only be configured for VPS accounts, and not for shared accounts. To ensure the security of everyone using a shared hosting account (and to avoid spam attacks,) this option is not allowed on shared accounts.
