cPanel error message: "Your IP address has changed"

This article describes a problem that may occur when you use cPanel, and how to resolve it.

Problem

When you try to view a page in cPanel, the login page appears with the following error mesage:

Your IP address has changed. Please log in again.

Cause

This problem occurs when either of the following scenarios occurs:

  • You (or someone else) tries to log in to cPanel using the same account, from two separate devices, at the same time.
  • Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) assigns you a new IP address while you are logged in to cPanel.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, simply log back in to cPanel on the device you are using.
